Philmont - Itinerary 9 - Day 9 - Baldy Skyline Camp to Pueblano Camp, Wednesday, August 9, 2006
Day 9, Baldy Skyline Camp (elevation 9140 feet) to
Pueblano Camp (elevation 8100).
Total distance about 2 miles.
The trek to Pueblano Camp was only about 2 miles and the
trail was graded and easy, even though the burros wouldn't
cooperate. The theme of the camp at Pueblano was the
"Continental Tie and Lumber Company". We were able
to play "Logger Ball" which is baseball using an axe handle and
a ball made out of duct tape.
At Pueblano we completed our service project, although our
work was cut short when a thunder storm moved in. We
were working to restore the habitate of the river to make it
more suitable for th native Cutthroat Trout.
The evening campfile was the best we saw at Philmont as
all the staff were muisians of one kind of another.
